  Cape Town

Situated on the southwestern tip of Africa, Cape Town and the Western Cape are recognised as one of the most beautiful places on earth.

The AZA2012 Biennial Festival will be taking place at the Cape Town City Hall located in the City Centre. At the heart of the City Centre is the central business district, a relatively small area which, with a good pair of shoes and general sense of direction, can be comfortably done on foot!

The City Centre has the Museum Mile, the Company Gardens, Greenmarket Square, St George's Mall and much more. The noon day gun, fired from Signal Hill at 12 noon, has become a much loved tradition and reverberates through the city's streets.

  Cape Town City Hall

This civic structure, in Italian Renaissance style, is a result of an architectural competition held by the Cape Town Municipality in 1894. With its strong British Colonial influences, it is regarded to have been the last major Victorian structure built in Cape Town. In 1998 the exterior restoration was completed. The building housed the Cape Town Library, but is currently used as a cultural centre for music events and contemporary art exhibitions.
